Factory Underground Teams up With Paul Green For a New Class
Paul Green, creator of School of Rock, has teamed up with Factory Underground to teach a new class inspired by the music of David Bowie. Preteens and teens all gather to partake in a year round program to work on David Bowie’s music, a recording project with Yes frontman John Anderson, professional residencies, guest star shows, and a even a tour! Martin Barre will be recording his latest solo album at Factory Underground! Barre was a member of the Grammy Award winning band Jethro Tull from 1966 to 2015 and has also released four solo albums. This year marks the fiftieth anniversary Jethro Tull and we are excited to hear what Martin Barre makes next!
BMI Files Petition Against North American Concerts Promoters Association
BMI, a leader in music rights management, filed Federal Rate Court action against the North American Concert Promoters Association (NACPA) to determine more fair compensation for musicians and songwriters for revenues from live performances license fees. Less than 0.19% of that revenue made its way to musicians. BMI argues that live concerts depend entirely on performers/composers and the current licensing fees are unfairly small. They propose a blanket license fee of 1.15%
